July 24
NGARUA, Puati. Passed away on Sunday morning July 19 at home in Auckland, New Zealand. Beloved wife of the late Papa Ta Ngarua. Loving mother and mother-in-law of Maanahima (Nai) and Beverley, Karoa Henry and Rua, Tereapii College and Makiroa, Mary and Okirua, Azela and Rauru, Jenny, Charlie and Tere, Memory and Josie, Topa and Mark, Rouru Vaine o Charlie and Vanessa, Sue and Daniel, Philadelphia and Maryanne, Mii, Puna and Natasha. Loved grandmother and great-grandmother of all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be sadly missed by her only remaining sister Mama Tangi Upu and will be missed by the Ngarua, Koroa and extended families. Family service at Pacific Gospel Mission (PGM) 31 Anglesea St, Freeman's Bay on Wednesday July 29 at 6.30pm. Her body will then be returned to Rarotonga on Saturday August 1 to be laid to rest with her husband's body. Mama Puati's body will be returned to her home on Saturday morning where it will lie until its return to the Cook Islands. MATAPUKU, Rourukeu Kika. Née Amaru. Passed away peacefully in her Porirua home, Wellington, New Zealand, surrounded by all her loved ones on July 15 2020. Known to many as Aunty Rouru. She loved her God, her family and life, all which she did very well. She was the loving wife of Rouruina (Tuaine) Matapuku and the heartbeat of her eight children and many grandchildren. In her honour, a final farewell service will be held on Saturday July 18 2020 at 9am, at the Cook Islands Christian Church on Mungavin Avenue, Porirua, before being laid to rest for the last time at the Whenua Tapu Burial Ground in Pukerua Bay, Porirua.

PEKEPO, Ngatamaine Piripaa. Beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, cousin and niece mostly known as Mama Toru Pekepo. Sunrise September 6 1932. Sunset July 16 2020, aged 87, in Auckland, New Zealand. She was beloved daughter of the late Teremate Tuamingi and Makingarokore Teuraa. Also the beloved wife of the late Maaratuakana (Kana) Pekepo. Mama's funeral arrangement Saturday July 18. Her body will be brought home to 194 Tennessee Ave, Mangere East, The asks that they keep this day for immediate family only. Sunday July 19 and Monday July 20. Friends and family are most welcome to say their farewells. Light refreshments. For any enquiries please contact Toru 0210497845. TUNUPOPO, Peter. AKA Metua/Ngatokorua. Sunrise March 18 1959, sunset July 13 2020. Aged 61 years. Passed away at home in Mangere, Auckland, New Zealand, surrounded by his family. A beloved son of Mama Fellesite Tunupopo and a son to Petuela Kora. A beloved husband of Uheine Tunupopo(née Tairi). A cherished father of Munokoa, Oswell, Dionn, Reison, Uwayne, Tunupopo, Aaron, Peterray and Amber. Much loved father-in-law. A loved brother to the late Munokoa Horn and the Late Vaakore, Teina, Tokoa, Kora, Mokoha, Tuakana-Maru, Enoka, Nitika and Apii. An adored grandfather, cousin, nephew, uncle and a friend to many in New Zealand, the Cook Islands and Australia. All funeral and burial dates are still to be confirmed. Both services to be held at Seventh Day Adventist Church, 66 Mackelvie Street, Ponsonby, Auckland. Then to final resting place with his beloved wife in Mangere Cemetery, Auckland.
