TANGAROA ELIA, Teokotai-o-Taiura. Aka Ratete. Born January 1 1957, Ureia, Aitutaki, passed away on August 29 2014 in Hamilton, New Zealand, aged 57. Son of the late Tangaroa Elia and Anna Nootu Teareuna of Aitutaki (deceased). Feeding son of uncle Uta Elia and Hina i te kumi Tonga (both deceased). Beloved husband of Te Owai Matuakore Joy Collier. Cherished and loving dad of all his children Robert, Steven, Bridget, Ina i te Kumi Tonga, Parenikau, Karani and Taiura and their partners and all the grandchildren. Loving brother of Mary and John Tini (deceased), Ruth and Teinakore George Turori (both deceased), James and Sharon (Tauranga), Nicholls (deceased) and Durl (Manaia), Putoko and Tuakana (Porirua) Makea and Akapoe (deceased) (Wellington) Tangaroa (deceased), Anna and Tua Iobu (Auckland), Joseph (Ureia) Rangi and Teke Tairi (Arorangi). Adored uncle of all his nephews and nieces. His body lies at his home 6 Cassidy St, Hamilton. Family service at his home on Monday September 1 at 7 pm. Funeral service will be at same address on Tuesday September 2 and afterwards to the crematorium.

HINTON, Mata (Ngaro-O-Terangi). Née Unuia. On August 23 2014 peacefully in her sleep at Stokeswood Home, Stokes Valley, Lower Hutt, New Zealand, aged 90. Dearly loved wife of John Richard Hinton, a devoted husband. Cherished mother of Mata, John, Ian, Alan, Anne and Peter. A very special Nana and grandmother of 12 mokopuna and 11 Ataro. Funeral service in Cornwall Manor, cnr Knights Road and Cornwall Street, Lower Hutt on Tuesday, September 16 2014 at 10.30am followed by interment at Taita Cemetery.

TUIRAVAKAI, Rio Rimaati. Born June 3 1930, passed away peacefully at Middlemore Hospital, Auckland, New Zealand, August 26 2014. Son of the late Edith and Tuiravakai Maruaao. Beloved husband of Tarepeta. Cherished by all his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Family service at 84a Preston Road, Otara, Thursday, August 28 2014 at 5pm. Funeral service Friday August 29 at 10am at 84 Preston Road. His body will be laid to rest at Manukau Memorial Gardens, 361 Puhinui Road. WITCHMAN, Tino Kapi Putoko. August 4 2014 aged 79, in Auckland, New Zealand. At peace with family by his side. Loved husband of his late wife Maureen and will be missed by his children and grandchildren. Heartfelt thanks to all who have given support and cared for Tino. "Aere Ra" Tino's body will be at home from 1pm, Wednesday August 6 2014 at 24 Steven St Mangere. Family service 6.30pm Thursday August 7 at Mangere Church of the Nazarene, 1 Killington Cres, Mangere. Main service at 10am, Friday August 8 at the Mangere Church of the Nazarene, 1 Killington Cres Mangere and then we will take Tino 's body to his final resting place at Mangere Lawn Cemetery, 85 McKenzie Rd Mangere.

KOLONI, Shand. Sadly passed away on Saturday August 2 2014 in Acukland, New Zealand. Loving son of Lingisa and Rarotonga, loving husband of the late Noreen, loving dad to Kamaia and Kobe. Shand's body is resting at his home, 27 Cramond Drive, Papatoetoe. Funeral service will be held at the Chapel of Love & Remembrance, Kirkbride Road Mangere, Thursday August 7 at 11am followed by a private cremation. All communications to Warren on 0274-615-153.

AURUPA, Upokounga. Also known as Taringa Aurupa, June 14 1933 to August 1 2014, took his last breath at Middlemore Hospital, Auckland, New Zealand, at the age of 81. Beloved son of the late Aurupa Tengaipuanga O Terangi and Akereu Aurupa. Loving husband of Teautapuariki Aurupa otherwise known as Mrs Europe. Treasured father of Tungarue Enua Ki Avaiki (deceased) and Tatuava, Vaine Nooroa and Takiika, Junior and Tera, Matapakia and Charlie, Ngatupuna and Ngarangi, Morgan and Aereata (both deceased - Sydney), Tuamaki and Dolly (Sydney), Tearikikatanui and Monti, Tina Mitai, Upokoina and Tepaeru, Ngatamariki and Papa Tua. Grandfather of 26+ and great-grandfather of 29+. Papa's body is resting at 12 Carey Place, Otara. Family service celebrating Papa's life at the Church of the Nazarene, East Tamaki Road, East Tamaki, on Thursday August 7 2014 at 6pm. Funeral service at the above church on Friday August 8 2014 at 11am. Papa will be laid to rest at the Mangere Lawn Cemetery. GIDEON (ROTA), Tungane Rau Te Tare Lesley, Peacefully passed away at her home in Raumati Beach, Wellington, New Zealand, on Thursday July 31 2014. Loved eldest daughter of Tungane Rau Te Tara and George Kitiona Gideon. Birth daughter of of Kii Matangiroa John and Tu Apiki Pike Rota. Cherished sister and sister-in-law of Poko Linda and Paul Robinson, George and Andrea, Sean and Michael Rota. Much loved godmother and Aunty to Tehani Ngapare Rau Te Tara Buchanan, Amelia Hennrie and Preston Rota. Adored Aunty of of Shaun Robinson, Kairangi Buchanan, Donelle Amiria, Linford and Mai'ina Rota. Loved aunt and great-aunt, niece, cousin, mentor and guiding light for for her extended family and friends. Her body will be at home in Raumati for friends and family to visit until the service. Service to celebrate Lesley's life will be held at the Cook Islands Christian Church, 11 McKillop Street, Porirua on Wednesday August 6 at 11am, thereafter private cremation. GEORGE, Toru George. Passed away August 2 2014 in Auckland, New Zealand. His body will lie at his home in 109 Pilkington Rd, Panmure, Auckland, from Tuesday August 5 2014. Family service Thursday August 7 at 6pm at the P.I.C Church on the corner of Pilkington and Pt England Rd in Glen Innes. Funeral service at the same church from 11am Friday August 8. TEMATA (Anapou) Tiatoa. Born in Oiretumu, Mauke, Cook Islands September 8 1919. Our dearest Dad passed away peacefully on Wednesday July 26 2014 at the Taranaki Base Hospital, New Plymouth, New Zealand, in his 94th year. Son of Vaipunu and Vaine, eldest brother, uncle, and cousin of his Cook Islands family in Rarotonga, Mauke and New Zealand. Beloved husband of Jane (deceased 2007) and Harriett Micky (deceased 1964). Dearly loved father of Farrell (deceased), Karl, Sue, Vaughn, Allaynna, Michelle, Tessa, Marise, and Willard and their spouses. Loved Granddad of all his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Tia's body will be at 16A Camellia Avenue, Bell Block should anyone like to visit him or leave messages. Family, friends, watersiders and wharfies are invited to attend Tia's funeral service at Fitzroy Samoan Methodist Church, 505 Devon Street East, New Plymouth on Tuesday August 5 at 1pm, to celebrate his long life.
