Avana Waterfront Apartments is a comfortable hideaway, located on the very edge of stunning Avana Lagoon on Rarotonga's east coast. Avana Lagoon was chosen, centuries ago, as the perfect sheltered mooring for the huge ocean-going Polynesians voyaging canoes which used the island of Rarotonga as a long term staging post.

There are six two level apartments and four studio apartments each with complete privacy, unrivalled views of the lagoon, ocean and the uninhabited islets opposite.

Each 2 or 3 bedroom apartment of well over 1000 square feet (100 square metres), offers either two or three bedrooms (one being air conditioned), one and a half or two and a half bathrooms, a huge dining/lounge area, laundry and kitchen, viewing and relaxing decks, verandas and a private courtyard too.

The modern studio apartments are roomy, air-conditioned and suitable for do-it-yourself romantics.

The spacious grounds are palm shaded, with abundant tropical frangipani, bougainvillea and hibiscus gardens, hedges, lawns and sandy sunbathing areas. Our swimming pool is surrounded by hardwood timber decks and thatched shade and barbecue huts.

Our private jetty, stretching from the shore into the lagoon, is a perfect place for fishing, swimming, snorkelling, sundown cocktails or a sunrise cup of fresh local roasted coffee.

Normal check in time is noon.
Normal check out time is 10 am.
Early or late check in (up to 2 hours) $50.

PAYMENT METHOD AND TERMS
To secure your booking we require advance payment at the time of booking for 20% of the total charge for the period booked. The balance is to be paid no less than 45 days before scheduled arrival date, failing which we may cancel booking (if booking is made less than 45 days from scheduled arrival date, advance payment is required in full).
Payment can be made by direct transfer to our account, or by credit card. In order to charge your card we require you to fax or e-mail the details of your card (including name as shown on card, card number and expiry date) to us.
Refund of Advance Payment is conditional upon:-
You must notify us of cancellation by e-mail or fax, receipt to be acknowledged by us.
If you notify us more than 45 days prior to scheduled arrival date, then we refund your payment in full less $150 handling fee.
If you notify us less than 45 days, but more than 15 days, prior to scheduled arrival date, then we refund 75% and retain 25% of payment.
If you notify us less than 15 days prior to scheduled arrival date, or 'no show', then we do not refund your payment unless the room is re-let, in which case we refund balance after crediting income and deducting all costs relating to re-letting.
We recommend guests take out travel insurance to guard against any unforeseen eventualities.
AIRPORT TRANSFERS
We can arrange these if required, normal rates being $35 per adult, $20 per child (under 12) round trip.
OPERATIONS
Management: Management is on site and is available to assist you with bookings for other activities.
Servicing:
* Daily - removal of rubbish from rooms.
* Every three days - change of linen and towels, sweeping of all rooms.
* Additional professional servicing is available at extra cost on request.
Air conditioning:
Because of the high cost of electric power, an additional charge is made for air conditioning if required. (NB: during the Peak Season the fans normally provide adequate ventilation).
Rental Cars and Bikes:
Our manager can arrange these for you in advance at economical prices.
Kayaks:
Kayaks are available for hire during your stay.
Baby sitting:
We can arrange a baby sitter to come to your apartment in the evening at a set cost of $30 per evening.
Fishing Trips:
A local deep sea fishing charter company can pick you up from our private jetty.
